Sixteenth Asian Games being held in Guangzhou, China finished on Saturday after 15 days of spectacular show by all contingent players. China has broken its own record of winning maximum medals and gold medals tally. The event's closing ceremony included lots of fireworks at Haixinsha Island where the closing ceremony had to take place, along with cheers from all over the galleries. Earlier such an event organized in China was Olympics games in 2008 and after that Shanghai Expo that has marked another flag in China's honour for not only organizing it marvellously and managing it with perfection but also for topping the list of medals tally. A new record of 199 gold medals in Asian Games has been made by China this year. The kudos goes to the administration and security departments of Asian Games 2010 Organizing Committee in China that managed the show very well without any hassles or troubles. Next Asian Games are to be held in 2014 at Incheon, South Korea. Many new laurels have been achieved at individual and team levels for most of the countries. India has reached to the sixth place by the closing of games thus setting a new record of highest number of medals and highest gold medals. China, India on one hand have improved whereas Japan on the other has had deteriorated its performance as compared to earlier Asian Games. Korean team of artists also had a small show during the closing ceremony on Saturday as they are the next hosts of the Games in 2014. Beautiful boats, high chorused songs and fireworks were the main attraction of the closing ceremony. |
