Match Fixing Pakistan: Lie Caught Red Handedly: Pakistani Players Photographed With Fixer Mazhar Majeed While Hitting london

Posted: 02 Sep 2010 09:39 AM PDT

Match Fixing Pakistan

The recent mach fixing scandal of Pakistan has really proved that Pakistani players are not only serial fixers rather they are serial liars also. Couple of days ago Pakistani players were caught in match fixing scandal. It was brought into light by British newspaper. After that lot of hullabaloo took place in this regard. Scotland yards started their investigation by seizing the passports of the players. But the person who spoke regularly and spilled all the beans of this matter was Veena Malik. Veena Malik is basically a TV comedian and an actress also.

She openly came into the media and said that entire PCB and Pakistan Cricket Team is a bunch of serial match fixers and all of them are involved in this match fixing scam from bottom to toe.  After she spilled all the beans of PCB and Pakistan Cricket Team in front of the public in the media PCB withdrew the names of Salman Butt, Mohammed Asif and Mohammed Aamer from the squad which is likely to play rest of the matches during the England tour.  All three of these have been found guilty in this match fixing scandal.

After Salman Butt, Mohammed Aamer and Mohammed Asif were found Guilty Pakistan high commission also intervened into the matter and met Scotland yards in this regard. PCB also said that players are not guilty at all rather it is conspiracy against the Pakistan cricket. PCB openly stated that all the Pakistan players are innocent. Moreover, Guilty players Salman Butt, Mohammed Asif and Mohammed Aamer also harped the same tune of their innocence in this matter.

But all this seems to be a big and brazen lie as recently Salman Butt, Mohammed Aamer and Mohammed Asif have been spotted hitting the streets of London with the guilty bookie named Mr. Mazahra Majeed in his Car. It is to be noticed that Mazhar Majeed is another culprit of recent match fixing scandal. He was arrested by the Scotland yards on the charges of match fixing.

This is just nothing because before the release of the recent photographs of all three guilty players with a bookie Mazhar Majeed in the newspaper of London all these three Pakistani players were making excuses of having not even a connection of any sort with Mazhar Majeed.

Now these latest photographs released by the newspaper of London have revealed that all the guilty players are lying. Moreover, Mazhar Majeed is a bookie and Pakistan players and PCB officials also have connection with him.

So from here one thing is crystal clear now that Pakistan is not only hub of global terrorism rather it is also a hub of serial match fixers who are shameproof and have no respect for game and their nation as well. Moreover, their lie in this scandal of not having any connection with Mazhar Majeed which her been caught red handedly has also proved that Pakistan players worship only money and for the sake of earning money they can go to the extent of match fixing also by putting the image of the game and their feelings about them in the heart of their fans also.

So this is a crystal clear proof against Pakistan players that has proved them guilty. Now Pakistan Cricket Board can neither budge from its promise of punishing the guilty in this scandal nor can make anymore lame excuses for putting of this match fixing scandal.

Controversial Rugby Doctor Gets OK To Return

Posted: 02 Sep 2010 07:46 AM PDT

John Nestor – AHN Sports Correspondent

London, England, United Kingdom (AHN) – Dr. Wendy Chapman has been given a warning and a second chance.

One of the figures at the center of rugby’s “Bloodgate” scandal, Dr. Chapman was told she cxould sontinnue practicing medicine on Tuesday by the General Medical Council’s (GMC) disciplinary panel, which also issued her a warning Wednesday.

Chapman cut the lip of Harlequins rugby player Tom Williams to cover up a fake blood injury and later lied about her role in the event.

The GMC decided that Dr Chapman mainatined the ability to practic medicine but said her actions were not in the best interests of her patient.

She was suspended by the GMC last September pending an investigation.

The whole ordeal started when Harlequins were losing 6-5 in the 2009 Heineken Cup quarterfinal against Leinster when Harlequins’ Tom Williams bit a fake blood capsule.

With suspicion building regarding the injury, Williams asked Dr. Chapman to cut him and she eventually complied.

Williams’ injury meant a specialist goal kicker could come on as a substitute for Harlequins late in the game, which Leinster won.

GMC panel chairman Dr Brian Alderman said it was “in the public interest” to issue a warning stating that Dr. Chapman’s conduct had been “unacceptable and should not be repeated”.

The GMC disciplinary panel said the warning would be published on the List of Registered Medical Practitioners (LRMP) for five years and that the warning would be disclosed during inquiries regarding Dr. Chapman’s fitness-to-practice history.

Dr. Chapman eventually admitted that she cut Williams’ lip to cover up a fake injury and later lying to a European Rugby Cup (ERC) hearing.

The GMC panel was told that Dr Chapman had been suffering from a “major depressive disorder” before the incident.

She was also awaiting the result of breast cancer tests. Chapman is currently recovering from breast cancer surgery, which took place in July.

PGA Tour Playoffs Hit Boston With Hurricane Earl Lurking

Tom Edrington – AHN Sports Reporter

Norton, MA, United States (AHN) – Tiger Woods is in town, Matt Kuchar is riding high, Phil Mickelson needs redemption and the PGA Tour is hoping like heck that Hurricane Earl doesn’t make an appearance at the Deutsche Bank Championship this weekend.

And yes, one other note, Jim Furyk won’t have to worry about oversleeping either.

The second stop for the PGA Tour playoffs is the TPC Boston, play begins on Friday but the talk this week is the weather and Commissioner Tim Finchem’s suspension of the rule that disqualified Furyk from last week’s Barclays Championship.

After heavyweights like Mickelson spoke out loudly against the disqualification of Furyk, Finchem announced earlier this week that he had “suspended” that rule. From now on, at least through the playoffs, a player who is late would simply join his group in progress, no disqualification from the tournament. The Tour will simply treat it as “unbecoming conduct” and give the player some sort of slap on the wrist with a golf glove.

With that out of the way, the attention turns to the weather. Hurricane Earl is moving up the east coast and could arrive in the New England area on Friday afternoon. And that means it could affect this event. It could pack winds anywhere from 39 to 74 miles per hour with heavy rains. Saturday play could become an issue as well.

But the main task for the remaining 100 players is that the bottom 30 in the group need to move up or see their playoff run end on Sunday. Only the top 70 will advance to Chicago next week for the BMW at Cog Hill.

One player who made a run last week was Woods. After a great first round then two mediocre days in between, he flashed a bit on Sunday with a final round 67 that moved him nicely up the standings. Woods will have to continue to play well. He sits at the 65th spot in the FedEx Cup points (734).

After last week’s play at Ridgewood, Woods declared he was “very pleased” and was looking ahead to this week and the next two. “The next three venues I’ve won on. So I’m going to three venues I’m very familiar with and looking forward to it.”

Another man who should be looking forward to this week is Furyk, who took ownership for his mistake that cost him a disqualification at the Barclays. Likewise, Mickelson needs to make amends for missing the cut at the Barclays.

The quiet favorite this week might be Steve Stricker. Stricker shot a final round 66 at the Barclays and finished at 10-under, just two shots out of the playoff between Kuchar and Martin Laird. Stricker is also second on the overall points list with 2,372.

If momentum is a factor then Kuchar is the man. He’s now atop the tour money list, has the lowest stroke average and is first in the race for the FedEx Cup with 3,937 points and the huge playoff win under his belt.

“I think there’s nothing better for confidence than winning,” Kuchar said last Sunday. “After all my wins, you feel like you’re on top of the world.”

He may not be on top of the world but a look at his stats, his scoring average and momentum and it’s easy to see that he’s on top of the PGA Tour.

Nuggets Brass To Meet With `Melo; Hope To Improve Relations

Posted: 02 Sep 2010 07:46 AM PDT

AHN Sports Staff

Denver, CO, United States (AHN) – Newly-hired Denver Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri is planning to speak with Carmelo Anthony, as he attempts to win back the trust of the franchise’s most coveted player.

Ujiri will reportedly schedule a meeting with Anthony to discuss several issues, specifically the superstar’s recent trade demand.

Anthony, entering the final year of his current contract, shocked the entire Nuggets front-office this offseason when he publicly demanded a trade.

The Nuggets previously offered Anthony a three-year, $65 million extension early summer, but the superstar declined the deal.

Sources indicated Anthony was intrigued of the possibility of playing in New York, New Jersey, and Houston, although some reports stated the Nuggets were also conducting trade talks with the Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Basketball analysts cited few reasons for Anthony’s trade demand, including his disappointment on the failure of the Nuggets front-office to provide more talent around him.

Ujiri nevertheless remained upbeat about his upcoming talks with the three-time All-Star, claiming the Nuggets weren’t giving up on him.

“It’s a process,” Ujiri stated during Monday’s press conference. “Until he tells me that, we want him back, the city wants him back, ownership wants him back. I think they’ve done a great job here.

Nuggets president Josh Kroenke also downplayed reports of an impasse between the team and Anthony’s agents, insisting both parties have been cooperative with the other.

Dolphins End Loses Diamond Earring; Not Only Jewel Miami Still Seeks

Posted: 02 Sep 2010 07:46 AM PDT

John Nestor – AHN Sports Correspondent

Davie, FL, United States (AHN) – Miami Defensive end Kendall Langford spent nearly an hour with several other players and officials looking for a lost earring on Tuesday after practice.

Combing the grass with their hands and rakes for the 2.5-karat piece of jewelry, they searched for what something worth possibly more than $50,000.

“Forgot I had ‘em in,” he told reporters . “I’ve got a great group of guys out here helping me — family-type guys.”

Langford said he first noticed the earring missing about halfway through practice and said the diamond was nearly 2.5 carats.

Teammates and Langford were on their hands and knees searching while some used rakes to comb the field.

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano briefly watched the search and said he has never lost earrings at practice—or anywhere else.

“I can’t afford them,” he said.

Langford had to give up to get to a team meeting. The 24-year-old was drafted by the Dolphins in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft after playing college football at Hampton University in Virginia.

While Lanford is still trying to find his jewelry, Sparano is searching for more consistancy from his team, especially after a 16-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Friday.

Usually the third preseason game is a dress rehearsal for the starters, who get a majority of the playing time. But the Dolphins did not look like a team ready to start playing for real as they managed only two field goals and the defense displayed a listless pass rush.

“We didn’t do some things well today,” Sparano said after the game. “The penalties, we turned the ball over one time. I mean those kind of things, it’s just sloppy inconsistencies. That’s what concerns me, not the number game it is.”

The Dolphins are going to need to shore things up if they want to have any chance of making noise in the competitive AFC East this season. New England and the New York Jets are AFC title contenders and the Buffalo Bills should be improved.

“I just told the players in the locker room there that this is not acceptable,” Sparano said. “There was always something unexecuted one way or the other. That’s my fault; I got to do a better job.”

Ivanovic, Querrey Outlast Opponents To Advance At US Open

Posted: 02 Sep 2010 07:46 AM PDT

AHN Sports Staff

NY, NY, United States (AHN) – Former world No.1 Ana Ivanovic may have recaptured her previous top form Wednesday morning after crushing China’s Zheng Jie 6-3, 6-0 in the second round of the US Open in New York City.

The 22-year-old Ivanovic came through with her best performance of the year, as she completely overwhelmed the 21-seed Zheng in just 56 minutes.

The Serbian showed some shades of her old, dominant self, as she grilled her Chinese opponent with accurate forehands and nifty crosscourt shots.

Ivanovic recorded 22 winners, 11 miscues, 55 total points won. Zheng posted 7 winners, 19 unforced errors, and 29 total points won.

Ivanovic has never reached the quarterfinal round of a Grand Slam tournament since she captured the French Open crown in 2008.

Nevertheless, the tennis beauty was steady in her first two outing, including her 6-3, 6-2 opening round thrashing over reigning AEGON International titlist Ekaterina Makarova.

Ivanovic could set up fourth-round duel with defending US Open champion Kim Clijsters, should she defeated wildcard entry Virginie Razzano of France in the next round.

It was also a triumphant day for No.20 seed Sam Querrey, who nipped compatriot Bradley Klahn 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 in their first-round encounter Wednesday.

Querrey controlled the opening set of the match but Klahn responded well in the second to even the score at 1-1.

But the 22-year-old Querrey came up with a pivotal 7-5 win in the third, setting up a four-set victory on Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Querrey is scheduled to face Spain’s Marcel Granollers, who survived Italy’s Andreas Seppi 2-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-2, 6-3.

World No.4 Andy Murray also advanced to the next round after blasting Slovakia’s Lukas Lacko 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
