I’d love to say that [last night's game] helps us a hell of a lot going into next week but we don’t know that for sure. We just have to expect New Zealand will be at their best and it’s going to require our best to stop them.”

”David Pocock was all over the breakdown,” South Africa captain John Smit said. ”He was massive there and we just didn’t match him. It’s just such a big part of the modern-day game.”

Elson made a touching first half with his great efforts hitting contlessly and scoring greatly with his lineout ball down the field.

The second half saw the Springboks lead away by the Wallabies with their constant hits. Clancy made a striking 45th minute with his ball hit sinning the bin infornt of the Australian officials.

And then finally the 61st minute was when the Springboks got to have a score after Fourie's leftaway. 11 minutes later the Sprinboks again made a score with Gurthro Steenkamp, but Genia made a devious score on the 76th.

Pavin, Langer Set Pace At British Seniors

Carnoustie, Scotland, United Kingdom (AHN) – Corey Pavin stood in the fairway at the 18th hole at the Carnoustie Golf Links, he had worked his way past most of the trouble on the famed course’s closing holes Friday.

Almost.

Pavin hooked his fairway metal approach shot out-of-bounds left on the long finishing hole, ended up with a double bogey six but still held a share of the lead after 36 holes at the British Senior Open.

Pavin’s second straight round of 69 tied him at four-under par with Germany’s Bernhard Langer, who shot an even par round of 71.

Cool, sunny and windy conditions made scoring a challenge for the field.

“The thing you have to do when you play links golf is guess the wind correctly,” said five-time Open champion Tom Watson, who has also won two British Senior titles.

Former Masters champion Ian Woosnam did a good job in the wind and shot the day’s low round, a four-under par 67 that got him in at three-under, 139, where he was in a tie with Jay Haas (70-69), Dan Forsman (68-71) and Larry Mize (69-70).

Mark Calcavecchia was alone at two-under 140 after a pair of 70s.

Americans John Cook, Russ Cochran and Jay Don Blake were another shot back at 141, one-under.

Watson finished the day with an even par 71 for a 145 total, three-over while Loren Roberts, another two-time British Seniors champion was at 142 (71-72).

“Seventy-one (even par) was a good score out there today,” Watson said as the wind blew stronger and conditions became tougher in the second round.

Carnoustie’s difficulty stood out as the 36-hole cut came at seven-over-par 149.

Pak v Aus

Pak v Aus

Pakistan tasted a test success over Australia after a long(13 years) and excruciating wait ,in Headingley test on the 4th day.

Even though, they walked onto the field with a simple equation of 40 runs required with 7 wickets still in hand, they made it as difficult as climbing the Mount Everest. Umar Gul saw them through with a boundary after the score were levelled which took a long time with 5 Pakistani batsmen losing their wickets and making a complete mess of what everyone believed would be a facile victory.

With this win, Pakistan has levelled the test series at 1-1. The atmosphere was one of exhilaration as Rudi walked off with a stump as a commemoration. Pakistan team gifted him a T-shirt as a gesture of appreciation. It was rough on the Australians who hoped to win the test series as a consolation for losing the one day series against England and the Twenty-Twenty to Pakistan.

The loss of this test match would be a blow to Australian captain, Ricky Ponting who is yet to lead his side to a test series victory in England.

Paul Allott who led the presentation, initiated the ceremony with a special gift to umpire Rudi Koertzen which was a sculpture that featured his most talked about "slow death" dismissal. There were 2 men of the match awards presented, 1 for the Australian side which went to Shane Watson, who bowled pretty well in the test and 1 for the victorious Pakistani side, to Mohammad Aamer.

Ricky Ponting was his diplomatic best with a hint of self-defence. He congratulated the Pakistani team for their effort and rued his decision of batting first which turned out to be a disaster when his side collapsed like ten pins with a meagre 88 on board. Salman Butt who was ecstatic after leading his young side to victory expressed his gratitude to the crowd, his team-mates who worked together and all the supporters rooting for them back home.

Pakistan would soon be in more action on Thursday with a 4 match test series lined up against England at Trent Bridge.

If this game's results are taken into consideration, it would be safe to predict another thriller at hands. Catch this budding team in action against a formidable England.
MATCH DETAILS:

Pak: 258 and 180/7 in 50.4 overs

Aus: 88 and 349
