Australia vs Pakistan

As per the results of 6th match of ICC T20 live cricket of Group A, Australia beat Pakistan by 34 runs in Gros Islet at Beausejour Cricket Ground on 2nd May 2010. Australia scored a total of 191 runs and all their players had become out. In reply, Pakistan team made only 157 runs in 20 overs. Thus, Australia won the match and yet is at the 1st position among the Group A teams.

Australia started to correct prior wrongs in this set-up with a forceful dismantling of the defensive winner at St Lucia, the 34-runs victory serving a grave notice to one & all of their targets in this tournament. They wear a new look about them in this competition, under a new captain in Michael Clarke at a worldwide happening for the 1st time since 1999 & with some very able experts in the team.

They went about their initiation match in a harsh style, echoing their supremacy over Pakistani team. Significant 50's from Shane Watson & David Hussey establish them up, prior similarly brutal speed shoved aside the batting order of Pakistan. The loss was Pakistan’s 10th international in a queue to Australia is neither here nor there; more significant, Australia were very hot & Pakistan very cold.

Australian Watson served outstanding in the summer at Pakistan’s cost and his love matter became continuous in more romantic environment. A little luck began assisted him, 2 tough opportunities let him down. Further assistance came from the bulldozing manners of David Warner, the couple providing Australia a vigorous opening.

Pakistan hardly started the bowling with a spinner & very rapidly, Shahid Afridi’s trial with Mohammad Hafeez proved a great failure. Warner lofted him for an unforced 6 over long-off to complete the 2nd over and in his upcoming; the game was blown release as the pair took 17.

Warner was out, as did Michael Clarke, but alike Matthew Hayden, Watson normally tackling of spin. Hafeez was heaved for 3 6's the final of which took his 50's in the 10th over. He was intellectual against Shahid Afridi & Saeed Ajmal, not always selecting them, but picking away every terrible ball. A pair of full tosses were driven & pulled and one cut was a cross-format shot. Then, Hussey became disturbed.

Pakistan’s fielding was slightly untying & Salman Butt dropped Hussey at18 was mostly needless. To remove it in, he imposed it on Mohammad Sami, the unsuccessful bowler. He had bowled in a right manner till the 16th over, when his span & head went, permitting Hussey to loft and pull his way to 4 sixes & a 28-run over. Amid the mess, Watson’s innings shortly impressive, Hussey’s own 50 came up.

Afridi was not remarkable & the choice to bowl Hafeez even proved futile. Hafeez & Sami scored 101 runs only. But Mohammad Aamer & Ajmal were excellent, attempting to score some respect at the very final as 7 wickets knocked down in the last 4 overs, involving an extraordinary five-wicket maiden last over.

That was to concern little as Australia’s aim carried on through in their bowling department. Spin, spin & spin has been the talk, but Australia had the belief in speed and with some explanation. Shaun Tait, Dirk Nannes & Mitchell Johnson will problem all but the very best on any face. Tait & Nannes were too much for Pakistan’s top order and the trio took up a wicket each in their 1st spells; Tait remarkably was pointed.

Pakistan’s batsmen seemed good. 14 runs in Michael Clarke's over, 17 in Steve Smith have proved it. Shahid Afridi & Misbah-ul-Haq kept anticipation with 47 runs but the revisit of pace missed it. Tait bowled Afridi, Misbah & Abdul Razzaq slogged out to Nannes and the pace trio finished with 8 wickets between them.

Thus, in the 6th ICC World Cup of T20, Australia beat Pakistan by 34 runs and scored a win.

The Indian colts reigned supreme yet again with the result of the second ICC t20 world cup match going in their favor against South Africa. The strong Indian side scored a healthy 186/5 in this , thanks to a brilliant century by Suresh Raina off 59 balls. The Indians had received a minor scare initially with both the openers getting out early but a 88 run partnership between Raina and Yuvraj Singh steadied the ship for India.

The South African side competed strongly till the end with Jaques Kallis top scoring with 73 off 54 balls. Captain Graeme Smith also chipped in with 36 and De Villiers with 31 to give a strong fight to the Indian team. But in the end they could only manage 172/5, falling short of 14 runs of the Indian team score.

This second victory on the trot would have given the India side a lot of optimism to the Indian side with captain Dhoni's words before the matches coming true. MS had emphasized that the IPL won't have an effect on the enthusiasm of the side which could clearly be seen. This victory of India in this India vs. South Africa t20 world cup match makes them the table toppers in their group to move on to the next stage while South Africa face a must win game against Afghanistan.

Dixon Gives Target Its Fourth-Straight Kansas IndyCar Win

Edward Lewis – AHN Sports Reporter

Kansas City, KA, United States (AHN) – Target Chip Ganassi Racing has cornered the market when it comes to Kansas Speedway.

On Saturday CGR driver Scott Dixon won his second consecutive Road Runner Turbo Indy 300, giving Team Target its fourth-straight victory at the 1.5-mile oval. Dan Wheldon won in 2007-08.

“It was huge. Winning at Kansas going into the month of May is a big deal,” said Dixon. “Team Target has had a slow start to the season, but this is what we need. It’s certainly good to get that momentum going to Indy.”

In IndyCar’s first oval race of the season, Dixon survived a restart with six laps to go to hold off teammate Dario Franchitti for the win.

Andretti Autosport’s Tony Kanaan moved up 11 spots and rallied for a third-place finish and was followed by Helio Castroneves.

“I have to thank the whole 7-Eleven crew for the great stops. It was a great race. We did what we could. We definitely didn’t have the fastest car out there so we tried to maximize the result,” said Kanaan. “Qualifying really doesn’t matter at this place. I hope the fans enjoyed it. I want to thank them for coming and it’s a good way to lead into Indianapolis.

Driving the No. 37 for Andretti Autosport, Ryan Hunter-Reay, moved up 17 spots from his starting position to finish fifth and pole sitter Ryan Briscoe finished sixth.

Alex Tagliani managed a seventh in the No. 77 ride.

“I think this weekend the FAZZT Race Team has shown that we can be competitive on the oval and that is where we want to be and I think it looks good for us heading into Indianapolis,” said Tagliani. “It’s very motivating for everyone on the team to have a good result here at our first oval event.”

Lee`s Agent Claims Mariners Pitcher Is Headed To Free Agency

Posted: 02 May 2010 06:44 AM PDT

Kareem Shaker – AHN Sports Reporter

Seattle, WA, United States (AHN) – Cliff Lee’s agent Darek Braunecker told ESPN Saturday the Seattle ace is likely headed to free agency rather than re-signing with the Mariners.

“We’re five months away from free agency,” Braunecker told ESPN The Magazine, “so I think that’s the most likely scenario at this point.”

“We’ve not really had any significant discussions with Seattle. I wouldn’t anticipate a deal [with the Mariners].”

Lee, 31, is likely to become the most sought-after pitcher in this winter’s class.

The 2008 American League Cy Young winner dealt seven scoreless innings in his 2010 debut Friday after returning from a lower abdominal injury.

The Arkansas native emerged as a force to be reckoned with in 2008, then went 36-16 for the Indians and Phillies from 2008-09.

Lee also posted a 1.56 ERA in five postseason starts in 2009, but the Phillies eventually lost in the World Series to the New York Yankees.

Lee was acquired by Seattle over the summer in the trade that sent Roy Halladay to the Phillies.

Consistent Slugger Konerko In Midst Of Career Year

Posted: 02 May 2010 06:44 AM PDT

Nathan Smith – AHN Sports Reporter

Chicago, IL, United States (AHN) – Paul Konerko carries a big bat and knows how to use it.

He currently leads the American League with 11 homers and 21 RBI. He had a multiple home run game at Texas this season. He currently has a batting average of .344.

But his offensive assault has been going on for years.

Konerko was an essential part of the Chicago White Sox World Series win in 2005. In Game 2, he went into the history books as the only player to hit a grand slam for the White Sox in a World Series game.

In 2004 and 2005, he had back to back 40+ home run seasons.

In 2009, Konerko had a milestone moment with teammate Jermaine Dye as they hit their 300th career home run. This type of milestone home run has not been done back-to-back in the MLB, let alone the same game.

He sits at the No. 87 spot on the career homerun list with 337.

For Konerko, homeruns are not just typical; they’re his calling card.
