England vs Ireland, 1st Match Without Result in T20 World Cup Posted: 04 May 2010 10:04 PM PDT
Ireland v England ICC T20 World Cup 2010 is in its first stage and rain prevailing bad affect on the tournament, especially for the England team as their matches is judged without the happening of entire game. Yesterday, in between the match of England vs Ireland, no team has won the match due to bad weather. England in their 2nd match inched their path into the Super 8 Groups later a tension full game playing at Providence. After made 120 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, England's Trent Johnston had put restriction on Ireland to score mere 14 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 3.3 overs by his superb bowling pace but due to bad weather the match stopped and thus England won on the basis of his superb run-rate. It was a bad news for the team of Ireland as their journey in ICC T20 World Cup 2010 comes to an end, due to a slow and cracked exterior; their run of medium-pacers had compelled England to slip for each & every single. And, in this ironic moments, the only man who came nearer for a miracle in the needy hours was, Eoin Morgan who stood firmly with 45 runs from 37 balls. England Counterpart: Yesterday, England had played their entire game. Lumb & Kieswetter were the opening pair; Kieswetter scored 13 whereas Lumb made 14 runs. Pietersen too did not score too much and was out at 9 runs. Collingwood did not open his account and caught by Botha. Wright scored 20, & Bresnan made 5 runs. Swann was not out at 7 runs and Yardy too did not score even a single for his team. There was only Morgan from England who scored 45 runs in 37 balls. The most economical bowler was Brien from the Ireland team who took 2 wickets at 22 runs. Conclusion: Neither England, nor Ireland won the match due to bad weather. So, the 10th match of ICC World Cup 2010 remained without any result. Rain saved England in mere 24 hours. Really, T20 is an unanticipated format of the Cricket! |
Machida vs. Shogun 2 Preview : Experts Favor Machida Over Rua Posted: 04 May 2010 09:17 PM PDT The upcoming fight between Machida and Rua is being considered to be the most precarious and physical fight of this year. This fight is going to take place between the two on Saturday's UFC 113 event. The first fight between these two fighters on UFC 113 Event was a technical affair so owing to this most of the fans puzzled. Some of the fans thought that Machida won this fight and at the same time some of the fans cogitated that Rua has come out with flying colors in this fight. Despite this confusion Machida's fans have an impression that he is likely to have edge over his opponent in the rematch. Now not even one week is left in the fight. So before the fight takes place it is time to have a look at some of the technical aspects of the fight. The first aspect that we all need to look at is striking because both the fighters are evenly matched in terms of it. First thing that was to be noticed that Rua delivered some precarious kicks to Machida. He did not have any answer to these kicks. Despite not having any answer to Rua's kicks Machida was not so bad at dealing with him. He did well in order to have his moments. In this fight Machida did answer some of the kicks delivered to him but that was not enough for the judges to give decision in his favor according to the experts. Now the question that is hitting in the mind of everyone is that will Machida be able to choke out any remedy to his kicks in the rematch? While countering with Rua's kicks Machida did a nice job but he was much better with his punches in comparison to his leg kicks. So it is going to be very interesting that what sort of changes Machida is going to make in his planning for the next fight. Making changes in his planning is going to help Machida in avoiding Rua's kicks and it will be a hard outing for Rua this time. As far as the opinion of the experts is concerned so they are completely muddled. Experts are not finding it easy to predict that who is going to have edge so far as striking aspect is concerned especially if the battle turns out to be physically brutal. The se4cond aspect is grappling. The first fight was completely fought with kicks. So both fighters did a good job in this matter. Both Machida and Rua are deemed maven at grappling. Although both have different style of fighting but despite this both of them are BJJ Black belt fighters. Rua is considered to be a deadly Grappler as he has defeated many fighters by forcing them for submission whereas Machida is thought to be novice at grappling as he has not won many fights with submission. But Machida is not a bunny with grappling. He may not be a deadly Grappler but he is surely a talented enough to cause serious trouble with his grappling skills. The third aspect that is likely to play a crucial role in this fight is stamina. So both the fighters are again evenly matched here. Both Rua and Machida displayed not trouble with stamina in the first fight that makes it a hard nut to crack for experts as it has landed them in confusion to say that who has edge in terms of physical stamina. Moreover it is also difficult to say that which fighter feels the pressure more then the other for changing his game plan. But Machida may feel like defending his Karate style of fight. As per the prediction of many experts this fight is in the control of Machida because there are number of possible ways for him to improve his previous performance. There is not much for Rua to improve especially in terms of his striking as he did not do splendid job with his striking abilities in the first fight and he failed in winning the fight. In order to ensure more success Machida can fix some more things. He needs to be little more nimble at his feet for success. Many experts are favoring Machida over Rua if he can improve himself at kicks in the fight against Rua on Saturday's UFC 113 Event. |
Posted: 04 May 2010 11:24 AM PDT In ICC World T20 championship that is being played in Caribbean Zimbabwe seems to have lost their luck somewhere in the never ending darkness. Before the tournament they came as a dark horse after piping the defending champions Pakistan and mighty Aussies in their warm up matches convincingly. But the moment ICC t20 2010 world cup commenced first their luck did not support them enough against Sri Lanka as they lost the match by 14 runs according to the topsy-turvy Duckworth Lewis method due to the interruption by the rain time and again. Now to stay in this ICC t20 World Cup they had only one option to make to super eight round by defeating formidable kiwis. But their hopes of becoming a fist team t o join the super eight round dashed to the ground as they lost today's match to New Zealand by seven wickets. With this defeat Zimbabwe became the fist nation in this year's ICC t20 cricket championship that has bowed out of the tournament. After getting a great start they collapsed all of sudden and lost their all wickets in quick session. Once upon a time they were 57 for the lost only 1 wicket. But then Kiwi all-rounder Jacob Oram turned the table on Zimbabwe with brilliant fielding to remove Hamilton Masakadza and Gareth Hopkins played key role in it who collected the furious and wayward throw of oram and dived to remove the bails for running Masakadza out. Zimbabwe lost rest of the wickets in 16 runs only. The moment he got out no one showed guts from Zimbabwe to face the furious, well-planned, disciplined and determined bowling attack. Rest of the batsman of Zimbabwe simply completed the formality of showing up on the crease but did not give much trouble to the scorers and to kiwis as they all got out in between 27 runs only. When Kiwis came to make their way to super eight round by chasing down this cinch target again rain hit the match and forced the officials to declare that no more play is possible in these conditions. SO they declared the New Zealand Winners of this match through Duckworth Lewis Method. This match between New Zealand and Zimbabwe reminded everyone of the Grand Finale of 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup held in West Indies that was held at the same venue. This match was equally paramount for not only both sides rather it was equally important for Sri Lankan team as their all hopes were banking upon the victory of Kiwis in this match after the shocking defeat to mercurial New Zealand. Had Zimbabwe won it so Sri Lankans would have become the first team to register a return ticket for their home. It was the second lowest total by any team in the history of ICC t20 World Cup. Before the collapse there was a good partnership going on between Tatenda Taibu and Masakadza that was single handedly dominated by Taibu who fell in making an effort of hitting the ball over square leg. So far as Masakadza is concerned he kept on playing his mascular stokes. He hit some hefty blows in his innings in order to keep the run rate competitive. But the moment he was forced to say good bye to the crease Zimbabwe team collapsed like pack of cards. More over in their exit from the ICC World t20 Championship New Zealand also played a crucial role with their sensible display of batting. With this win over Zimbabwe New Zealand team has not only secured a place for themselves in the ICC t20 2010 World Cup super eight round rather they have also given a chance to Sri Lankans to fancy their chances again in this year's ICC World t20 Cricket World Cup. |

Saints Coach Payton Denies Stealing, Abusing Vicodin; DEA Investigates Missing Pills Posted: 04 May 2010 10:20 AM PDT Corine Gatti – AHN Sports Contributor New Orleans, LA, United States (AHN) – New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton and coach Joe Vitt are the unnamed senior staff members in a lawsuit filed Friday by former security director, Geoffrey Santini, who stated that he was asked to cover up abuses of a prescription painkiller, according to reports. Santini filed a civil lawsuit against the team for back pay and benefits, court costs and attorney’s fees. He quit last summer, he said, after finding out that the Saints were attempting to cover up violations involving Vicodin. The former FBI veteran of 31 years did not name Payton or Vitt, but refers to Senior Staff Member A and Senior Staff Member B. It has been reported that Payton is SSMA and assistant head coach Joe Vitt is SSMB, the Daily News indicated on its Web site. Sources confirmed that they are the ones referred to as “Senior Staff Member A” and “Senior Staff Member B.” “I have never abused or stolen Vicodin or any other medication,” Payton said, according to the Daily News. The Saints denied the allegations stating “it’s an extortion attempt by a disgruntled former employee,” according to published reports. According to the suit, 130 Vicodin pills were not accounted from January and April 2009. After 110 pills were found to be missing, Santini said that general manager Mickey Loomis set up surveillance cameras in the trainer’s room and “SSMB was subsequently caught on tape stealing pills,” the report said. “As long as the doctor writes the prescription, you can keep it on hand as bulk medication,” an NFL trainer said. “In the old days, it is what every club used to do. Some trainers at professional and college level got into hot water over it. There are a lot newer ways to do it. A lot of trainers feel like me. I call the doctor. He calls the prescription in.” Article © AHN – All Rights Reserved |

I do not want to see anyone cheat or cheat this sport. For that reason I am willing to consider taking blood [tests] as close as 14 days prior to the fight, as long as my opponent does the same, and it is not a lot of blood, just enough to test,” Pacquiao said on his official Web site.
