Pak vs Eng 2nd Test Score Day 2: Pietersen Saves The Innings Posted: 07 Aug 2010 12:15 PM PDT
Choosing to bat first Pakistan were bowled out by the English attack on the first day for just seventy two runs. It was Anderson who lead the bowling attack and took 4 wickets, while Broad took 4 wickets but gave more runs. The rest of the two wickets were taken by Finn. Though England had stopped Pakistan from making a big score, it now depended on the English batsmen to put up a big lead. The task seemed difficult because of the Pakistans bowling attack. But the English top order handled the bowlers well and made a score of 209 for the loss of 4 wickets but after that Pakistan took 5 quick wickets to stop the English first innings at 251 on day 2. Pakistan in their second innings have already lost a wicket and are at a score of 19 runs on the scoreboard. Pietersen played good and score eighty runs. He seemed to be on this day a superman. SL vs Ind: Laxman Does A Ram; Saves India From Lanka Posted: 07 Aug 2010 10:59 AM PDT Sri lanka vs India Lakshman, the famous technically superb player, who generally plays the role of the wall, when the real wall a.k.a. Rahul Dravid departs, once again showed his class and took India out of a fix and helped level the series 1-1 against Sri Lanka. India who scored a 436 in the third test match, as a reply to Sri Lanka’s 425 in the first innings and then managed to get them out for 267, needed 257 from their second innings to win the match and level the series. But with India having a score of 62 for 4, their chances seemed bleak. First innings hero Sehwag had gone for a 0 and the wall had crumbled for just 7 runs. Then came Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar and VVS Laxman. A solid fifty four from tendulkar and a 41 runs role by Raina, gave Laxman enough support to reach his 103. Laxman had to take a runner due to cramps but he still kept his crease till the end. As for the bowlers it seemed to be S Randiv who got all the credits as he took all the 5 wickets of the Indian innings. Pace attack was weak with Malinga going for 49 from his twelve over's in the match. Player of the match was given to Laxman and Sehwag took the player of the series. |
