India vs New Zealand Live score: New Zealand moving towards comfortable total

In the first match of the tri-series tournament at Dambulla in Sri Lanka, New Zealand has managed to accomplish a comfortable position after initial hiccups against India. The Kiwis were all out on 288 at the end of 48.5 overs.

An outstanding partnership between Ross Taylor and Scott Styris  helped them to overcome the tragic situation in the beginning where they reduced to 27 for three. The duo piled up 190 runs with Taylor scoring 95 and Styris bagging 89.

On winning the toss, New Zealand had elected to bat first. The Indian bowlers displayed some spectacular performances sending back three Kiwi batsmen back to back. Peter Ingram's wicket was claimed by Ashish Nehra, while Guptill was caught behind following Praveen Kumar's delivery.

He also sent back Williamson for a duck. The batting pace was brought down considerably till the time Taylor and Styris took up the onus. Both survived certain threats and went on to punish the Indian bowling quite powerfully whenever they gained an opportunity. During this game, Styris also became the third New Zealand batsman to reach the 4000-run mark in one-day internationals.

He continued to hit Ojha for multiples before finally getting clean bowled by the same bowler. Taylor was caught LBW in Ashish Nehra's delivery. However, the duo's partnership is the highest against India, surpassing the earlier 152 by Martin Crowe and Ken Rutherford in 1990.
