Tiger Wood

Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren have recently split up but even though the woman who has less appreciation for him as a husband holds no doubts about his golfing career. Nordegren recently in an interview said that “I know he is going to go down as the best golfer who ever lived, and rightfully so.” She also added that she felt privileged about first hand witnessing something that is no less than a spectacle, Woods endless victories as a golfer.

The ex wife of the golfer said that this year Woods is still on the No.1 spot even though he hasn't won even one of the nine tournaments that were conducted this year. As the No.1 seed for the term of three years Woods will get back to his golfing with the PGA tour standing on the spot 112. On a low seeding he will go first at the Country Club of Ridgewood. Well when Woods was enquired about if he has ever done this before. He laughed of saying weekends only.

With the passage of time it is being hoped that the focus will be exclusively back on his golfing assets and not his personal life, since he has already had enough with a recent divorce from wife Elin. In an interview that Elin had with media post divorce had her telling them that whatever happened was no less than hell for her.

Commonwealth Games deluged in water and shame as countdown begins

Common Wealth games

Common Wealth games

With only five weeks left for the Common Wealth games to begin, India is still mucked in controversy, in fighting, in competency and further delay. Everything related to the CWG 2010 is in utter doom whether it is the game anthem or even the slightest bit of development.

At a press meet arranged on the 16th of August AR Rehman, the Oscar winning music composer was supposed to reveal the anthem he had composed for the games, but instead the star said that the song was still not complete and it needed some more inclusions.

Apart from this the finances that are needed for the arrangements are on a complete blow out and since December they are only inflating further without any substantial outcomes. Media reports that a lot of budget has gone hay way because of the fraud done by the organizing committee people and also the government heads looking over the event but by the end of the day it is not they and neither particularly anyone that the world will be pointing a finger at.

It is going to be the entire nation that will stand in this dilemma that is being posed by a group of inefficient people who thought of nothing but there self interest.

Even Mother Nature is out on rage with regular outpours that are hitting the capital leaving it smeared in dirt and mud. The drains are blocked, the construction activity is on a halt and the municipal corporation has already made its verdict that an increase in the number of mosquito borne diseases is to be expected this year because of the water logging that is severely affecting the entire city.

With so many factors it would really be disheartening for every single Indian to see the name of the country facing utter shame.

Report: English Soccer Crowds More Diverse Than Ever

Andrew Lawn – AHN Sports Correspondent

Norwich, United Kingdom (AHN) – The stereotypical view of an English soccer crowd is of white, middle-aged, drunken thugs who look for, and more often than not find, trouble.

The truth however is quite different.

Research done by Populus during the 2008-09 season, indicates soccer crowds are more diverse than ever before with 19 percent of supporters being female and 8 percent coming from ethnic minorities.

Over a five year period the picture shows even more diversity.

A poll of 2.3 million individuals who had attended matches, found one third of supporters, 33 percent, were female whilst 16 percent were ethnic minorities.

The future also looks bright with the study finding that 13 percent of season ticket holders were children under the age of 16.

When it comes to security, 97 percent of all supporters said they felt safe both inside and outside soccer grounds, highlighting efforts made to eradicate hooliganism from the English game.

The findings have been heralded as the best possible advert for English soccer. and it is perhaps no surprise the results were released during the four-day FIFA World Cup assesment tour of the country.

Elin Nordegren`s Next Move — Jesper Parnevik`s Neighborhood?

Posted: 26 Aug 2010 07:52 AM PDT

Tom Edrington – AHN Sports Reporter

Tequesta, FL, United States (AHN) – Tiger Woods’ next home may well be the $75 million compound he has built on Jupiter Island in Martin County, Florida. It is nearly finished and it has taken nearly two years to complete.

His now former-wife, Elin Nordegren, may be looking to settle not far from her ex.

Nordegren broke her silence this week in an interview with People Magazine. One thing she revealed is that she will probably look for a home near Tiger’s mansion so that it will easier for her children to visit their father.

Where will Elin settle?

Consider this — her two best friends are Jesper Parnevik and his wife Mia. She worked for them as their children’s nanny when she was first introduced to Woods by the couple.

These days Jesper and Mia live in the Rolling Hills-Indian Hills community in Martin County, across the street from the famous Jupiter Hills Country Club.

The Parneviks have a beautiful home on the intercoastal waterway. There’s also lovely six-bedroom, six bath home, also on the intercoastal waterway in their neighborhood for sale, available to a buyer who can afford the $4.7 million dollar price tag.

That would be a very modest amount for Nordegren, who may have received between $100 and $150 million in her divorce settlement with Woods.

Seems like the perfect place for Elin and her children, in the same neighborhood with the two people she is closest to, her two best friends and anchors of her support group outside her immediate family.

“Rolling Hills is the perfect community for her (Nordegren),” said John True of Oceanfront Realty in nearby Jupiter. “Jesper and his wife live there and everyone knows that they are very close with her. The home that is available in their community would be a perfect fit for her, It’s a beautiful home on the water, very much like Jesper and Mia’s.”

Another factor for Nordegren is that Rolling Hills is far enough away from the glitz and the glamour of Palm Beach. It’s a good 45 minute drive north of the island.

There are a lot of other famous golfers in the area. Nick Price has an oceanfront home on Jupiter Island and it’s also where Greg Norman lived.

His home is on the market for a cool $65 million. Jack Nicklaus has lived in North Palm Beach at the Lost Tree Village enclave since 1968.

Army Called In After CWG Construction Slows Security Work

Posted: 26 Aug 2010 07:04 AM PDT

AHN News Staff

New Delhi, India (AHN) – With civil authorities and organizers of the Commonwealth Games having fallen short of achieving their preparation targets, more than a thousand specialized personnel of the Indian Army have been roped in to lend a helping hand.

On the other hand, security agencies already involved in the process have expressed concern over the delay in finishing construction at the venues, adding that with each passing day, it is becoming more difficult for them to perceive a foolproof security infrastructure at the venues.

According to the original plan, the CWG organizing committee was to hand over 63 Game venues to the security agencies by Aug. 1 but delays in construction made that impossible. As a result, the Games village will now be handed over to the Delhi police in the coming days and the rest of the venues would be made secure in a phased manner.

CWG organizers insist that the Army personnel have been involved to take care of the security-related matters during the Games. However, official sources revealed that apart from arranging the security set-up for the sporting extravaganza, the Army would also provide technical assistance with regard to “intra-force communication, maintenance of jammers, decrypting suspecting signals as well as logistic support.”

Army personnel will take charge by Sept. 15 and the Games are to begin Oct. 3. Among other units of the Army, teams from the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) wing have also been deployed.

Army personnel will maintain the security network at important locations such as the residential complex or Games Village, various hotels, as well as communication centers established across Delhi for the sporting event.

With more than 70 countries expected to take part in the CWG, Delhi police as well as various security agencies are working day and night to ensure proper security at the venues as well as residential areas.

Organizers plan to put in place as many as 17,500 personnel of Central paramilitary forces, 3,000 commandos, 100 anti-sabotage teams, 200 dogs and 15 bomb disposal squads to take care of the security.

Nosebleeds Minor Downside For Exciting Chargers Rookie Back Mathews

Posted: 26 Aug 2010 07:04 AM PDT

AHN Sports Staff

San Diego, CA, United States (AHN) – Former Fresno State and current San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews underwent a minor procedure Tuesday to address recurring nosebleeds.

Mathews, 22, suffered nosebleeds following a collision near the goal-line in an exhibition game against the Dallas Cowboys Saturday.

After sitting out a spell, the rookie running back returned to the field and rushed for 53 yards on 12 carries in a 16-14 losing effort to the Cowboys.

Drafted 12th overall last April, Mathews is expected to fill a huge void left by former NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson, now with the New York Jets.

Mathews, who suffered recurring incidents of nosebleeds since his high-school days, had his nose cauterized to prevent his nose from bleeding in the future.

Mathews said the procedure and its side effects are uncomfortable, but he hopes it completely cures the issue.

“It feels like I have a cold right now because I’m so stuffed up,” Mathews told North County Times Tuesday. “It wasn’t fun, but hopefully it works.”

The Chargers expect Mathews to emerge as one of their primary rushers, alongside veteran running back Darren Sproles.

Chargers head coach Norv Turner really likes the enthusiasm of Mathews to perform better even during practices.

Mathews will once again take the field Friday, when the Chargers face the defending Super Bowl champion at Louisiana Superdome.

Turner added there are times Mathews needs to control his anxiousness.

Nevertheless, the Chargers could perhaps see another dominating running back in the next years in the youngster.
