The 1st round of the PGA Championships this year at the golf course in Whistling Straits in Kohler, promises to be an unexpected thriller. The golf fans have been subjected to numerous surprises with inexperienced Major Champions and Tiger Woods, the Demi-God collapsing to hit his worst phase in career in his effort to reform. The links-style course will be a stupendous contest of guts and will-power when it comes to overpowering the winds blowing over from Lake Michigan.

Woods with his awkward stance manages a 3 feet on the par 3 at the 12th hole. He put his tee shot in the rough with the wind picking up. Appleby was replaced during the period from his top position by Martin Kaymer who was leading the entire field by a 3 under par. Woods then gained some confidence by sinking a 6 foot birdie putt and with a score of 2 under par with two holes; Woods looked back in his form.

Tiger, then birdied his first hole in round 1. Early on in the round, 2 of the professionals had started showing their mettle. Kyle Flinton with 3 under par and Rob Labritz with 2 under par are making their presence felt.

Meanwhile Ryo Ishikawa was at 2 over par. The player to really watch out for though is the winner of Madrid Masters this year, Luke Donalds. There is fog over the course delaying the play but fans of Tiger would be anticipating that he gather himself and stamp his authority early on in the PGA Championships 2010.
