[Live Score] Eng vs Aus 2nd Match: Anderson Knocks Out Australian Batting Posted: 03 Dec 2010 09:49 AM PST
Australian first innings batting and England's second innings batting were the two remarkable things that happened in the first test. In fact England's second innings batting was marvelous. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. The decision might not be treated as best if thing don't go in their favor for the days to come as their first innings score may not be treated as high. Like England in first test's first innings, Australian first innings in the second test concluded on the first day itself. Shane Watson and Simon Katich opened innings for Australia and unfortunately but unnecessarily Katich got run out even when the innings account had not opened yet. Ricky Ponting was also in a big hurry to go back to pavilion as he also got out at ducks on the next ball caught by Swann bowled by Anderson. That was the first innings' fourth and fifth ball that showered disaster on Australian team. Probable Clarke too was in a similar hurry as Katich and Ponting as he got out at his score of 2 runs only when Australian score also was at 2. He got out in the same way as Ponting caught by Swann and bowled by Anderson in his second over and innings' third over. Watson was next to go but after his half century and a 94 runs stand with Hussey. He made 51 in 94 balls with 7 fours and 1 wicket caught by Pietersen bowled by Anderson. All the wickets so far had been taken by Anderson. North also went after making 26 and a 60 runs partnership with Hussey. Hussey was next to go after getting out 7 runs short of his century caught by Collingwood bowled by Swann. Haddin made 56 and Australia was all out at 245 with only less than 10 minutes left for the day. Anderson took foru wickets, Swann two while Broad and Finn getting one wicket each. Andrew Strauss and Cook opened English innings but the only run England made came from extra. Strauss and Cook both will be opening their account on Saturday morning. |
