Saina Nehwal Saina Nehwal proved her swift moves at the super series in Hong Kong after she grabbed the title with an outstanding final score which led her to make the best of her presence with 15-21, 21-16, 21-17 against Chinese player Shixian Wang.

Making up for the entire year Saina played so well that she actually shut close all the critics who had once said that she could not tackle the Chinese players. The players from China fear only two players and that is Tine Baun and Saina.

Saina was always a thorn in the flesh while Tine was somehow handled. The worst situation was when Saina played out their gold medalist at the Asian Games.

Saina has put up a great play this year as she bagged three back to back medals in June and got the best five spot in March.

She won a gold medal at the CWG Delhi and also grabbed a winning point at the super series of Hong Kong on Sunday.

Saina who was more than just happy chirped about her victory and said that she felt great. The year overall has been brilliant for the young player and the ending of it even better.

Saina had lost the Asian game at the hands of Pui Yin Yip and Shixian from China. But beating her at this round was truly pleasing for the player.

During the beginning session Saina was a little shaky but then she went steady and paved her way through victory in the battle that went for 71 minutes along with a high fired power play.

Salman Butt Explains Spot Fixing Cash as “Allowances”

Salman Butt

Former Pakistani skipper Salman Butt said that the cash, several thousands of pounds, recovered by the police in his hotel room while the investigations of the spot-fixing scandal legitimately belonged to his share of tour allowances.

Butt along with the pacemen Mohammed Aamer and Mohammed Asif was suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) based on the suspicions that were aroused by a "sting" operation carried out by the newspaper News of the World of Britain that all three of them were part of a betting scam for the 4th Test against England at the Lord's that required them to deliberately deliver no-balls.

There were further charges levied by the newspaper which led to a police search that revealed 15,000 pounds in cash in Butt's hotel room.

Meanwhile, Butt said in an interview from his Lahore residence that will be aired on Sky Sports on Monday that it is a very well known fact that all the players are paid daily allowances for tours by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

He further explained that 11,000 pounds of the 15,000 pounds that were discovered in his hotel room were his share of daily allowance and around 4,500 pounds were given to the skipper as part of an extra entertainment allowance.

The trio's case (Butt, Asif and Aamer) will be heard by a panel of three men chaired by English lawyer Michael Beloff who also heads the ICC's commission for code of conduct at a hearing which will be held at Doha, Qatar next month.
