Kings XI Punjab gets a stay order by Bombay HC

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 10:59 PM PST

The Bombay High Court has stayed the termination order of IPL team Kings XI Punjab on Wednesday.

The cricket board wanted to dissolve the team but this halt has brought a relief to the team that took to the court for justice.

SJ Vazifdar Justice of HC informed that the case drawn by the cricket team was much too strong through the documentation provided.

A new arbitrator will step in to settle the dispute as earlier it was Justice BN Srikrishna who moved out of the case.

Until now according to the decision made Kings XI will participate in the auction that will be witnessed in the month of January.

The team has also been asked to put forth financial and bank guarantees since there can be losses if the arbitrators decision goes against the team.

Also the cricket team has to clear previous dues as per the judge's demand since this would be a national mark on prestige.

Justice Srikrishna who was handling the dispute as an arbitrator between Rajasthan Royals and BCCI had felt that the termination of the agreement was not fair.

The statement about the share holding patterns made by lawyer of Kings XI, Darius Khambata had the fact that the team is jointly owned by Preity Zinta the bollywood actress, Ness Wadia her beau and industrialist, will remain stagnant as the shares cannot be sold without the permission of the court or arbitrator in charge.

BCCI wanted to terminate the service of the team since the share holding pattern changed and this was what they put up for defense against the case.

Yusuf Pathan who has put up a great play yesterday at the Bangalore's stadium against New Zealand said that he felt that India would not loose and was over confident about the entire thing.

Yusuf said that he knew that India would make it through the fourth ODI too with victorious colors. [Click here for Ind vs NZ highlights]

His first ODI century yesterday evening has become a turning point of his career as he is the indispensable batsman who would be a part of the world cup series next year.

Yusuf shot 123 runs for just 96 balls, the moment he hit the pitch, India was sitting on a score of 108 with 30.3 over and four wickets.

Yusuf felt happy by the chance he got yesterday which provided him with ample time and opportunity to make the most of the overs left.

Yusuf informs that he got the opportunity to play well since many overs were left to India and with this he could steadily play a long inning.

During the match rain brought an hour's halt to the entire game and it was during this halt that Gautam Gambhir advised Yusuf to make use of the power play and go steady and save wickets.

By the end of the game Yusuf Pathan and  Saurabh Tiwari managed to make the score which was 316 runs with Pathan still not out even after he made his winning century of 123.

Yusuf still wants to stick to the same batting position he holds in the cricket team as he realizes that there are many very well playing cricketers in the team and by playing in the down order he feels a lot more confident as he can help the team win in tough times.
