This is the fourth one-day in this series of five one-days. The stand-in captain Gautam Gambhir has led his squad brilliantly with consecutive centuries to defeat the visitors in their worst-ever wash-off since 1975-76. India does not seem to mark the absence of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina which is quite positive for the oncoming World Cup. The young members of the squad including Virat Kohli, Saurabh Tiwari and Murali Vijay have shown superb skills in this series which would have boosted the morale of the skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the nearing World Cup that will be hosted in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Krish Srikkanth, chairman of the national selection panel, said, "”Youngsters in the team have proved that the bench strength is good. It is important that we keep winning all our matches up to end of the World Cup. Overall, I am confident that the players will perform to their potential and keep the momentum. I am glad that the preparation for the World Cup is on the right track”. Indian side was seen in full form by washing away the visitors who had come after a 0-4 defeat at the hands of Bangladesh. The Indian bowling attack headed by senior pacer Zaheer Khan accompanied by the youngster R. Ashwin who is yet to prove more economical in the middle overs seems to be making a strong impact.
